Alas!

The dress is $168. Boo hiss. However, I tried finding it online. I did not find that exact dress (yet!) but a very similar one by the same designer can be found on some discount sites for under $100. I saw that one in the store too and may go back and try it on to see if it is just as flattering since only the top is really any different. I could then decide if I want to spend $90 on a dress when I have nowhere to wear one that fancy.

I have to say, not only do I like several dresses in the Adrianna Papell line now that I've looked online, but I am very happy to see that she does plus sizes as well. The same exact dress I linked above can be found in plus sizes up to a 24.

I also found another LBD online on clearance that looks cute and will only cost $30. That one I may order tomorrow when I can order from work. I can risk $30 on an untried dress.

Go for the $30 dress. Yes, you don't know when you will wear it but the fact is that you have it and you do plan to wear it even if it is to just put on every once in awhile to look at yourself in the mirror. Hell, if I were down to that size I'd buy it in nothing flat. Those of us that have and are struggling with weight loss can testify to how much we just want to feel beautiful. I could tell how happy you were in that dress. You oozed self-confidence. Go for it girl!!!!!!!

I like the $30 one too. The v is sort of rounded and the round neckline definitely look better that the straight v. It should be pretty! I want photos.

Photos? Heck, I'd probably have it shipped to your house in the 1st place Mom, so you'd get to see me try it on. :-)

I am going to dissent and say that your best bet is the one you found that was similar (first link); I think you'll look really good in that one!

Whoa. Just catching up here a bit. You looked fabulous in those dress pics!

I hate shopping, but even more, I hate when I find something I like and then have financial stuff to consider in whether to purchase it! Good luck!

(my vote? splurge on the one you know looks hawt and feel great wearing it! ok, not the most realistic advice -- maybe one of the ones you find online will look super, too!
:D )

Well, I ordered the $30 one this a.m. Fortunately it was not sold out in my size (the other sizes had sold out by this a.m.). I can return it to the store for a refund of everything except shipping charges if it doesn't work, so that made it an easy decision.

As for the other one, I am not against splurging on it (on the discount price anyway) when I have a little more ready cash to do so, probably next month some time. There's nothing wrong with 2 dresses after all. :-)
