my runniversary

Three years ago today, I took my first baby steps to becoming a runner. 60 seconds of running alternated with 90 seconds of walking, for 20 min total not including a warm-up and cool-down walk.

Those who have known me for a long time know what a big deal that was back then.

Since that time, I have officially run 1671.4 miles, but the real total would be more as there are a number of runs during that time where I measured only by time and not distance. The real total probably tops 1700 miles. For reference, Boston to Key West is 1657 miles.

Congrats Kris!

I started out exactly the same way, though it will be four years ago in January.

Happy Runniversary!!! I definitely remember what a big deal it was when you started your C25K. I could avoid saying things like I remember when you said you would NEVER run, but you know I'm not going to do that, right? ;-P

Tonya, I thought the same thing. I actually ran 3 miles that morning as it was on my training plan and then I realized later how appropriate of a distance it was for my 3rd anniversary.
