Strength

My friend found this engraved rock at a fair trade store and bought one for me, another friend, and herself, to "serve as a reminder to each of us that we are strong women capable of accomplishing anything to which we set our minds and resolve." It was a surprise gift delivered by another friend, because she was unable to give it in person.

There are many times when I do not feel particularly strong, especially in the way that she meant when she wrote the above. It was a very timely gift, far more than she knew, because I have been going through one of those "not strong" times lately but had not said so to anyone.

So far, it has sat on my coffee table so I see it daily. For now, the visual cue helps some. Perhaps someday the message will really sink in and I will believe it to the core of my being.
